I've known for a while that dapatty is awesome. We met during Werewolf Big Bang when I had the pleasure of arting her wonderful story With You Hiding in My Bones.
Our bonding over furry transformational band boys continued and she very kindly offered to podfic my werefic, Five Times it Mattered that Patrick is a Werewolf (And One Time it Didn't).
I cannot express how excited I am about this! I've never had anything of mine podficced before and I'm so glad it was dapatty. She's done a marvellous job of capturing what I was aiming for. Please go listen and shower her with internet love.
You can find it on lj and AO3.
Thank you dapatty! ♥ ♥ ♥
As usual, I'm several years behind the rest of the fan 'verse. While everyone seems to be into Teen Wolf and Revenge at the moment, my attention is all directed at a crack-tastic heist-based tv series called Leverage that started in 2008. I'll try to explain it, but be warned that so far I've only seen random episodes, out of sequence from the first, third and fourth series.
tl;dr Leverage kinda sucks but I love it. Any other fans out there?
Title: The sound of loneliness (makes me happier)
Band(s): My Chemical Romance ( a Jon Walker cameo)
Pairing(s): Bob Bryar/Mikey Way (with background Frank Iero/Gerard Way, past Brian Schechter/Bob Bryar)
Word Count: 12,500
Rating: R (for expletives)
Warning(s): brief mentions of past abuse within a relationship, small violent incident
Disclaimer: Don't own. Title is from “Poison Oak” by Bright Eyes.
Summary: Bob is not the relationship type but something about Mikey makes him want to change all that. There are obstacles at every turn, from Gerard's overprotectiveness to massive communication issues (mostly due to Bob being a failboat). Bob has to work out what he really wants to say and how to say it to have a chance of making a relationship with Mikey work. (AU. MCR never happened. Bob is a drummer working as a sound engineer.)
Author's Note: Huge thanks to the BBB mods and to my mixer and artist for choosing me. If the beginning of this fic seems familiar it's because it is expanded from a shorter fic I wrote for picfor1000. (There's no need to read it first, as this fic overrides it.) I have no personal experience of deafness but I wanted to use it to explore communication issues and have done a lot of (hopefully thorough) research. Also, I'm a Brit and have retained British spelling and grammar throughout.
valress was kind enough to make a mix for this story. In the fic, music is what binds the characters together and lets them express themselves: valress has obviously put a lot of thought into this mix and it complements the story perfectly. Thank you! (And I LOVE the cover art.)
